About Me

Hello, my name is Melanye Rodriguez Serna, a senior at McLane High School. I am extremely excited to have been accepted to the Creative Writing in Literary London Program! This is an amazing opportunity that can really help me out. I have great potential I'd love to showcase. For years, since I got into reading and writing, it has been my dream to write my own story. I've started many, many stories but could never finish them. The reason being I don't have enough experience or knowledge in creative writing. It's my dream to go to London! And knowing I can go to London to learn about something I'm so passionate about is the opportunity of a lifetime! This will really impact my career and life goals. My only obstacle is my financial situation. I need to fundraise $6,950 for the program, that's minus flight costs. Before that, I need to pay a $1,000 deposit by December 21, 2023. My parents don't have the money to help me pay for my costs, as much as they wish they did. I hope to fundraise as much money as I can to cover my costs.
